Cyclists can ride more safely at Týnec nad Sázavou
Two new sections of a bike path with the total length of 1.79 km and a new bridge across the Sázava River for cyclists and pedestrians have started being used by cyclists at Týnec nad Sázavou and Zbořený Kostelec in the Benešov region. The bridge, which makes it easier for both residents and tourists to get to the remains of Zbořený Kostelec castle and to a bus stop ensuring connection with the capital, was opened with a ceremony by the governor of the Central Bohemian Region Miloš Petera (ČSSD) on Tuesday 28 July 2015.
Construction of both sections of the bike path and the bridge across the Sázava River cost nearly CZK 26 million and it was co-funded from the Regional Operational Programme Central Bohemia. The project, which was awarded to the company HOCHTIEF CZ a.s. that had been successful in a tender process, also comprised installation of markings and signs for cyclists, traffic signs and construction of a rest area.
